Deeply Rooted Partnership in Oakland
Just Cities serves as the Technical Assistance/Community Education Partner of the Deeply Rooted Partnership, a collaboration of Oakland's multiracial community organizations. The mission of the collaborative is to ensure that community residents are engaged in defining the future of an equitable and culturally-thriving Oakland for the next 20-30 years. The collaborative partners along with Just Cities are listed at the bottom of this page.
Upcoming Community Education Workshop:
Housing & Environmental Justice (Friday 4/8 and Saturday 4/9)
Did you know the City of Oakland is in the process of updating its General Plan for the first time since the 90s? This document will guide the growth and development of the City for the next 20 years!
We will review the past and present policies that led to today’s conditions in housing and environmental justice. Join us as we collectively ground ourselves in what’s happened, and how we see Oakland in the future. Participants will share feedback on potential policies and environmental justice community maps. Simultaneous interpretation in Cantonese and Spanish will be provided.
